I have stayed here a few times, the rooms are comfortable and big and it's very reasonably priced, however it isn't perfect and that can best be summarized by the fact that my room didn't have any bath towels, I went to the front desk to tell them this, and they basically told me that I was wrong because the rooms are always inspected before I checked in. Well there weren't any towels, I wasn't wrong. Not a great way to approach customer service.

A longtime guest of Hotel G, especially given my office is just across the way in Union Square, it’s become the perfect fit for my stays in SF. The rooms are clean, modern and functional, with a low-key atmosphere that feels both comfortable and welcoming. What really stands out, though, is the staff. Everyone is warm, accommodating, and genuinely helpful. A special shoutout to the hotel manager, Ricardo, who went above and beyond to help coordinate my stay during a small personal emergency! All in all, Hotel G is a fantastic no-fuss stay with a great team behind it.

Disappointing Experience Due to Front Desk Staff DAVID I’ve stayed at this hotel multiple times and have always enjoyed the property itself the suites are great, and it’s typically a place I would confidently recommend to friends and colleagues. However, my recent experience was extremely frustrating and honestly unacceptable. Despite having a confirmed suite, I was denied access to my own room by a front desk employee named David. There was no clear explanation given, and the situation felt unnecessarily difficult and unprofessional. This isn’t the first time I’ve encountered issues with David every stay where he’s involved seems to come with some kind of problem but this was by far the worst experience. As a returning guest, I expected a level of consistency and basic hospitality, not to be blocked from entering a room I paid for. It’s disappointing because this hotel has so much potential, and I want to recommend it. But as long as guests are treated this way, I cannot in good conscience suggest it to others. I truly hope management takes this seriously. I would absolutely love to recommend this hotel to many people in my network — but not until this issue is addressed and the guest experience improves. and also as long as David is here I will never return and never recommend this place ever.

We had a fantastic stay and would stay again based on location, room size, and pricing alone. Thanks to the clear room type descriptions on their website, we selected a "greatest king" room to suit our needs. Reservations portal was seamless and there were many special rates and sales listed right on their website. Check in was pleasant and easy, and you can tell they've done what they could with a very old building to modernize and stylize. The only con: running the parking pass back was a bit clunky, and the Westin parking attendants definitely change their tone when you tell them you're at Hotel G, he literally dropped his smile and told us to hurry up. The room was surprisingly cozy for having exposed brick and concrete floors, was immaculately clean, and the amenities available felt generous and upped the quality of our stay (get the robes!). We are the types to enjoy the hotel room/experience as much as the sight seeing, and this room was perfect for chilling out and relaxing between activities or for a lazy morning. It was really spacious for a City hotel room and a block away from the bustle of Union Square. This room was super quiet, we were on the 10th floor and had neighboring rooms occupied, but never heard a soul or a suitcase rolling, there was almost no ambient noise at all. It had possibly the best blackout curtains I've ever experienced. Add a comfy bed, and we slept so good! As others have mentioned, the bathrooms are comically small and awkward, another symptom of the age/existing features in a very old building. One side of our toilet was about a centimeter away from the wall, and the sink was so itty bitty that washing my face was a clown show. Might just be us being old and blind, but we also found the TV to be surprisingly small for the size of the space. Overall, still a solid stay in a very clean and stylish room. Would recommend!

I booked a king suite thinking I was getting the G Terrace suite and got a Greatest King. First off the rooms are very behind the times. Appliances are all very old. For 400 bucks a night this is a complete rip off guys! Don't stay here!!!! Save your money!! The pictures on the website are very deceptive and don't give an accurate representation of the rooms. Front desk guy was no help for getting us a different room. Extremely overpriced for what you get. Very disappointed!
