Overall, it was a pleasant stay, but the breakfast selection was quite disappointing for a world-renowned 5-star hotel. The variety was limited, and the flavors didn't quite hit the mark. As an Asian guest, I found it difficult to find options that suited my palate. It left me wondering if the breakfast menu is primarily tailored toward Western tastes rather than local or Asian preferences.

The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai Pudong what beautiful classy place. From the stage I arrived and till I checked out the staff went above and beyond too make my stay extremely comfortable and enjoyable stay. My room was nice and spacious with a fantastic view of the harbour and the room amenities where fantastic with a great shower with great pressure and bath to soak up those hard days exploring the beautiful city and its attractions. The housekeeping kept my room nice and clean and even would setup my bed for bedtime with bottles of waters on the bedside with glasses and next to the bed slippers, I could keeping going but you do have to experience it for yourself. Room service was a restaurant experience within itself and the staff took great care too prepare and serve food. The restaurant and lounge section, what a experience and fantastic food and service. The food was cooked too perfection and the staff help too make it fantastic dinning experience. The rooftop bar, I went there on a Saturday night and the atmosphere was incredible and the DJ set was something you see out of those VIP rooftop parties with a absolute great view overlooking the city. The hotel location is great and it connects into the shopping mall with its high end vendors and on levels 3 - 4 with fantastic restaurants. Overall I had excellent stay and would highly recommend The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai Pudong and big thank you to its staff for its excellent service and warm welcome.

This is probably one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at, and it really checks every box for me. The hotel is conveniently located in the IFC building, with modern rooms and beautiful views of the Bund and the Oriental Pearl Tower. The whole place is beautifully decorated throughout, and it feels elegant, warm, and welcoming at the same time. What really made each stay stand out, though, was the service. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and thoughtful, and you could really feel the attention to detail. I had the pleasure of being looked after by Ashin and Winga during my stays, and their service was so warm, thoughtful, and effortless that it made me feel at home, while the seamlessness and little details quietly reminded me at every turn that this is a Ritz-Carlton. The hotel has great restaurants on site. And if you want even more options, it’s incredibly convenient to have all the shops and dining in IFC right there without needing to go outside. Blue Bottle for coffee, La Boulangerie Robuchon for pastries, and Da Dong for Peking duck were all great to have nearby. There is even a supermarket on the B2 level with a very good selection of fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, and seafood. It really feels like my second home in Shanghai, and I will come back again and again.

The best five star hotel, the staff are most fluent in English. The rooms were spotless and turn down service was on time and on point. The location is the best, fine proximity to the IFC Mall and tons of shops and restaurants. It was our first time and the staff arranged a tent for my daughter and a welcome dessert. It was convenient to go to the rooftop bar, Flair. The rooms were quiet and well insulated. Def coming back to this hotel.

This was the hotel I was most looking forward to in Shanghai. While the view and overall hardware are undoubtedly top-tier, the service did not match that level. The number of staff seemed insufficient, and overall service quality was the lowest among the nine hotels I stayed at during this trip. The concierge team was excellent and truly delivered a Ritz-Carlton–level experience. However, the reception staff were disappointing—at times they seemed dismissive and even disrespectful. The lounge, unfortunately, is best avoided. There appeared to be only one staff member who could communicate in English, and all other staff relied on that person for translation, which made the service extremely slow. One staff member, Chloe, struggled to understand a simple order for an iced chocolate even after multiple attempts—myself, my daughter, and my husband all repeated it several times. Eventually we were served, but it felt unreasonable to go through that much difficulty for a basic drink. Even a local chain café would have handled that more smoothly. The managers did try to make up for the issues, which I appreciated. However, I experienced situations here that I have never encountered at any other hotel, so I simply cannot give a positive rating for the service. The food was average, nothing particularly memorable. The view, however, is outstanding, and that alone makes the stay feel somewhat worthwhile. Still, this is not a hotel I would return to—more of a one-time experience.
